Ken grew to hate his brother, because no one ever noticed him. One day, a Digivice came through the computer. Osamu straight away presumed it was for him, and told Ken to keep away from it. Ken, however, crept in one night and took the Digivice and entered The Digital World with it. When he came back, his brother was furious for taking it, and hit Ken for doing so. Ken wished his brother would just disappear. Then he did. Osamu was killed in a car accident, and after that, Ken blamed himself for it. Oikawa was also secretly at the funeral, and noticed Ken's pain. When Ken entered the Digital World the next time, he was with Ryo. The Dark Spore was aiming for him, but Ken pushed him out of the way and took it himself. Ken was ill after that, for a fair while. However, Wormmon noticed he was losing Ken slightly. Ken then traveled to the Dark Ocean, where he dipped his Digivice in. It changed into a D-3, and into the Dark D-3. Shortly after that, Ken changed into his Kaizer form, and became increasingly violent. When Wormmon sacrificed himself to save Ken from his own creation, Chimeramon / Kimeramon, Ken snapped out of it and realised what he'd been doing was wrong. The real Ken began to come back slowly. After going through what had happened in his life, he traveled back to the Digital World, in order to find Wormmon. In Primary Village, the baby Digimon attacked Ken, but there, in one of the cots, sat Leafmon, Wormmon's baby form. Ken & Leafmon agree to start all over again. Shortly after all this, Daisuke eventually persuades the rest of the group to let Ken come over and join the team. When danger gets extreme, Ken helps save Iori. Miyako then runs off to get Ken to come and join the team herself, whilst the others fight. Once Ken was part of the team, the spotlight was rarely on Ken again. An episode where Hikari falls prey to the Dark Ocean is shown, and Ken & Hikari support each other through the episode - This is one of the final highlights of Ken overcoming evil. Hikari later helps him close the portal once and for all, and gets the others to join in. |
